M.S. in Biology

The master's candidate must demonstrate competence in mathematics, chemistry, and physics comparable to New Mexico Tech's Bachelor of Science in Biology. In addition to the MS in Biology requirements above, the following are required:

• Completion of at least six credit hours of CHEM 5061 (Advanced Topics in Biochemistry, 3cr) and CHEM 5047 (Medicinal Chemistry, 3cr), or committee-approved substitute 5000-level chemistry course(s).

• Completion of one credit hour of BIOL 5001 (Graduate Seminar) and two credit hours of CHEM 5029 (Chemistry Graduate Seminar).

Thesis overlaps the fields of Biology and Chemistry and is supervised by faculty from both Biology and Chemistry Departments.
