Program Description

The Master of Science degree in Hydrology requires completion of a thesis according to the general requirements of the Graduate Program.

Program Information & Policies

The student’s course of study must be approved by the advisory committee and must fulfill the general requirement for the master’s degree and must include:

  • GEOL 4040 and GEOL 4040L, HYDR 5007, HYDR 5008, HYDR 5011, HYDR 5018

  • Three additional credits from graduate-level hydrology courses listed in the course catalog

  • HYDR 5091 (at least six credit hours) 

  • HYDR 5092 (two credit hours) and HYDR 5093 (four credit hours); credits do not apply to the 30 hours required for the M.S. degree

  • Compentency in the surficial processes at the GEOL 2320 level or above, including courses taken at previous institutions. Suggested courses include GEOL 5062 or HYDR 5062.

  • Compentency in statistics at the MATH 2350 level or above, including courses taken at previous institutions. Suggested courses include MATH 3082 or MATH 50 84.

  • At least three additional graduate-level course credits approved by the advisory committee
