Course Description

Infrastructure systems have been deteriorating at an alarming rate and resources available for their rehabilitation or replacement have been limited. This course considers the current challenges to managing infrastructure. It focuses on current issues and through case studies addresses: the social, economic and political importance of infrastructure, the ASCE Report Card and its purposes, planning approaches economic and other strategies for comparing infrastructure alternatives, sustainability, risk, and resilience). (cross-listed with CE 4003; additional course expectations for graduate credit)

Prerequisite: Graduate Standing in Civil & Environmental Engineering, or consent of instructor
