Program Description

This program provides students with a unique introduction to the fundamentals of alternative energy through to modern developments in the field. The emphasis of the program is on applications to small scale renewables as well as extensions to large scale power systems. Renewable energy types include: Solar; wind; tidal; geothermal; nuclear and power scavenging; and topics include: engineering and physics of renewable systems; conversion efficiency; storage; limitations; smart grid; control, and integration strategies and others.

The Renewable Energy minor consists of 18 credits, including 15 credits of required courses.
