Course Description
An introduction to the science of anthropology and its terminology, theory, practice, and subject matter. The course begins with a history of anthropology and then goes into methodology of archaeology. Then, using the discoveries of archaeologists, the course presents a history of humanity from hominids to the early civilizations. The course concludes with a study of cultural anthropology; the study of human beings; and their social and cultural institutions, beliefs, and practices around the world, creating a study of adaptations to common problems.
